The story begins in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, where founder Mrs. Nayomi Ranaweera witnessed how rural families tapped the sap of the Kithul palm using techniques passed down through generations. This sap, rich in minerals and natural sweetness, had long been part of traditional diets but remained largely under-recognized in global markets.

What makes Kithul truly unique to Sri Lanka is its deep cultural significance. The traditional technology for tapping Kithul sap — known locally as Kithul Madeema / Kithul Kapeema — has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).
